ATURA Transportation Planning Affiliation

ATURA is seeking qualified projects to fund with its allocation of SAFETEA-LU Transportation Enhancement funds. In order to ensure that your project is eligible for these funds, ATURA asks that you complete the attached application. The completed application does not need to be a professional work of art, but your project does need to be clearly presented. ATURA reserves the option to seek more information on your project, but it will primarily make decisions based on this application. Please make sure your application is complete!

This application is for Transportation Enhancement funds available in the 2010 Program Year (starting July 1, 2009) and through Program Year 2011 (starting July 1, 2010). The following items are included in this packet:

Regional Transportation Enhancement Application

This completed application is the only item that needs to be submitted for funding consideration.  Applications for ATURA enhancement funds are due at the Southern Iowa Council of Governments (SICOG) office by 4:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of April and the 2nd Tuesday of October of each year (if funds are available.)  Please call the SICOG office at 641-782-8491 before preparing an application to inquire if  ATURA has sufficient funds to accept applications for a given due date. Late applications and facsimiles will not be accepted.

Qualifying Criteria for Transportation Enhancement Projects

Your project must meet these Qualifying Criteria in order to receive funding from the Federal Highway Administration (source of ATURA Transportation Enhancement funds).

Priority Criteria for Transportation Enhancement Projects

All applications will be scored according to these Priority Criteria. The Priority Criteria is the method for determining the regional benefit of your project when compared to Transportation Enhancement Qualifying Criteria and other projects that may be submitted.
